September Update!

Can you believe that it is already September? August was so busy and it just flew by. We had a great Welcome Week at SMU and met lots of students. All of our events were fun but my favorite by far was Coffee House. We had some of our friends playing live music and feasted on artisanal coffee and homemade treats by members of Northeast Church in Garland. There was a great turnout and the students really enjoyed it. We also had our first Wednesday Night Fellowship meeting during the first week of school.

(Wednesday Night Fellowship)

Several new students came and the time we spent in fellowship was meaningful and I am excited to continue to see how our times on Wednesday's develop and grow throughout the course of the year. A group of three freshman girls came on Wednesday and next week I will be starting FOJ (a one-on-one bible study) with one of them! I am excited to see God work in her life and develop a friendship with her throughout the course of the school year.

God has been faithful in bringing new students into our ministry and it has been a joy to meet the people He has sent to us. I pray that we will be faithful as well in our mission to make and mature disciples and further His Kingdom on SMU.

On Friday of the same week we had also had our first Friday Night Fellowship with the UTD and Richland College. There were so many new students and it was encouraging to see the student leaders welcome new students into our community.

This month we have Dallas Fall Camp with UTD, SMU and Richland September 23-24! Please be praying that students will see this as a both a valuable time and financial investment into their spiritual lives and a way to participate in community. I also ask that you pray students will begin forming spiritual friendships within their cores and the larger community as a solid foundation for the rest of the school year. Thank you for all your prayers and support!
