Ministry Update!

Time has seriously flown by. I cannot believe I am already two months into my apprenticeship! We are almost done with our Old Testament Foundations class and I have learned so much and truly enjoyed the discussions with my fellow apprentices and our course facilitator. It has been neat to explore God's faithfulness in the Old Testament and see the continuation of His character in my life.

This past weekend we had our Dallas Fall Camp with UTD, SMU, TWU Dallas, and Richland College. We spent about 24 hours playing games, bonding, and worshiping God with one another. It was so encouraging having the opportunity to spend time with the students who came.

The SMU students were also able to fellowship with students from the other Dallas campuses. I think seeing and meeting students of the larger Dallas communities was encouraging for the SMU students who are new to FOCUS. The amount of people can sometimes be overwhelming for new students but our community is one where is always room for a few more, and I know that the SMU students were able to experience this value.

As the month comes to a close, I have been reflecting on how I have seen God answer so many prayers. He has brought so many students into our ministry and I invite you to pray that we would be able to see how God is working in their lives and join Him. This week we begin reading the Psalms in our Old Testament class and I would like to leave you with one of praise to our God for His faithfulness. Thank you for your continued support!

  2. Hey Dawn, thanks for the update! I am so encouraged to see that SMU students were embraced by the larger community at your Fall Camp! I wish I could hear each of their stories. I know God is working in their lives, and FOCUS is a part of his work there. Keep it up Dawn! Love you!
